If your team wins a championship, you are entitled to as many champ t-shirts as paid roster slots. That is the rule. T-shirts will be delivered in the first month of the next season. That’s simply how long it takes for one person to handle and distribute dozens of t-shirts. Of course, if you would like to volunteer with the hard labor of sorting t-shirts and contacting captains for sizes and delivery, things will go quicker. If not, then it is what it is.
>WED 8/27 (7:00PM) — As mentioned on the Playoff Brackets page, SJ will resume on 9/7, with the exception of SJ-NC.
For those of you interested in the 2014 Fall season, email me at rich(at)dreamleague(dot)org, although there is no news to report at the moment. Registration pages should be updated by this Friday.

THU 8/21 (7:30AM) — Schedule for this Sun 8/24 is done, see below. Some of the games in red may not happen if one team does not beat the other. The refs and scorekeepers are aware of this and will take a break during those times as necessary.
WED 8/20 (7:30AM) — Draft version of the schedule for this Sun 8/24 has been posted below. You can see that SF and OAK have “spotty” schedules whereby some of the games in red might not happen unless one team beats another. In SJ, we’re looking at a full slate starting early morning since we have a lot of Losers Bracket “mini-final-fours” where we eliminate a whole bunch of teams. We should have more of the schedule fleshed out by late tonight.
WED 8/20 (7:00AM) — Playoff brackets have been updated, or in SJ’s case, created. All the dates on the brackets have been updated as well. Next step: first draft version of the schedule for this Sun 8/24.
TUE 8/19 (8:00PM) — Scores from last Sun 8/17 have been updated in the Comments column. A lot of great playoff games, especially in Round 1 of San Jose. Oakland seemed to have a bunch of blowouts for some reason. Btw, if your team wins a championship, please email us your t-shirt sizes — one t-shirt per roster slot paid is the rule. Also, please be patient. It takes awhile for all the championships to be played and the t-shirts ordered and delivered. So, like NBA rings, they will be available at the start of the next season.
Also, email me if you’re interested in next season. Registrations should start soon.
Next step is to update the brackets and create the SJ brackets so everyone can see the upcoming matchups for the next few weeks.
FRI 8/15 (8:00AM) — Final tipoffs for this Sun 8/17 are below. Remember, some LOSERS of Winners Bracket games must play again, due to recent byes we’ve had to take. Be sure to look for all games and their Comments column in purple.
In SJ, we have a problem with the SJFA vs BBOF game: If we can put that game at 10am, it’s on, otherwise I wasn’t able to fit it into the schedule esp with AHHS having latest possible tipoff at 7p due to gym premises restrictions.
THU 8/14 (8:00AM) — Matchups are below and are about 80% in chronological order. SJ first-round playoff matchups — check the SJ tab for the seeds — were very complicated due to the special requests a few teams had. Had there beeen zero special requests, we would’ve been able to finish SJ by now. With such complications, we will probably need all of today to iron out the various problems. Therefore, target final post of all the tipoffs: tomorrow Fri at 8am.
WED 8/13 (6:45PM) — OAK playoff brackets have been updated. SF has not, but we should have those up by late tonight. SJ has been bracketed and seeded, take a look at the SJ tab on the spreadsheet below and let us know if you strongly don’t agree with any of it. We will go from there.
FRI 8/8 (2:00PM) — Just made two major swaps in the OAK schedule, due to Franchize DL and Franchize NC being inadvertently overlapped at 12p and 1230p (obviously, they have multiple players on both teams):
- 11a and 12p at BCRC were swapped. This enabled Franchize DL/NC not to be overlapped anymore.
- 1p and 2p at BCRC were swapped. This avoided a back-to-back situation for the first swap.
Thanks to all the teams who cooperated with this.
FRI 8/8 (8:30AM) — Final schedule has posted! Thanks to all the captains we contacted (there were a lot!) for all your cooperation. This was one of the toughest schedules in my 12 years of running Dream League. A few playoff brackets had to be adjusted in that the Winners Bracket has a bye, but in the next round, the loser of the Winners Bracket game will have to play their 2nd game against a winner from the Losers Bracket (from there, the Championship and Repeat Championship might be on the same day of 8/24, to get it done before Labor Day). Scroll down or hit the jump link below…
THU 8/7 (9:00PM) — I don’t feel confident the schedule will be finished by tonight. Just too, too many quirky special requests with really small timeframes, making my and Peter’s life difficult as schedulers. I don’t get it. It’s playoffs. Guys are supposed to clear their schedules and be ready to play. It’s very frustrating. Kind of disappointing, really. That’s why I never pickup high-maintenance people on my teams.
THU 8/7 (1:30PM) — First major draft is up, scroll down below. Again, SF chronologically ordered games are probably going to stay where they are, OAK has a lot of changes going on as we speak, and SJ will probably stay as listed. ALERT: OAK SCHEDULE CAN STILL CHANGE, INCLUDING BYES.
We’ve also asked WWWD, Splash City, Kryptonite, Cereal Killers, and Franchize NC to play later than their timeframe due to the complications.
THU 8/7 (1:00PM) — FYI, there are some major complications in the OAK scheduling with all the Losers Bracket games there. We might have to give certain brackets and portions of brackets byes, but it’s only a couple here and there. Draft going up soon.
THU 8/7 (10:15AM) — The SF tipoffs have NOT been finalized yet, although they are near-done. At least two games have been moved since the last post, which was still in Draft mode. SF tipoffs will be finalized at the same time as OAK and SJ, which should be sometime this evening.
THU 8/7 (9:15AM) — OAK matchups have been copied/pasted on the schedule below but are NOT in chronological order yet. Still working on the SJ matchups as we were not informed which teams wanted to play a 7th game until late last night. We also got a lot of late special requests yesterday. So we’ll be working on finalizing the schedule all day today, hopefully get it done by evening time.
In the future, please do not wait until Wednesday (or later) to submit your special request. Again, it would be nice of you to give us that information no later than Tuesday midnight, for the sake of your peers and in respect of our time scheduling the games.
WED 8/6 (8:00AM) — Proposed SF schedule is now available below, with MDLS starting in the morning. We do not have ISAH available due to resurfacing of the floor there. Please be aware of the proposed SF byes for this Sun 8/10 listed in red below the Draft schedule.
Meanwhile, Peter will get to updating the OAK brackets soon and then the Draft of the matchups from there will follow. In SJ, we are waiting on some teams to reply about having a 7th regular season game before we can match them up, as you can see on the SJ tab.
TUE 8/5 (10:15PM) — We’re in the midst of updating the SF and OAK brackets. As for SJ, we are approaching the last regular season games. The following teams have already played 6 games and been given the option to play a 7th regular season games since they finished ahead of time: Gunners, Squaaaad, Strokers, Brick City, and MTV. Please have your captain contact me if you want to play a 7th game, however, it will cost $25/team to help cover the gym costs, as I obviously don’t want to be in the position of where I have to pay for the gym above and beyond the 6 regular season games I am responsible for scheduling each team (plus double-elimination playoffs).
Also the following SJ teams are behind in the payments: BBOF (6 of 8 roster slots), Fly High (6 of 8), Regulators (7 of 8). Captains of those teams should contact me asap to resolve.
THU 7/31 (11:30PM) — SF tipoffs are finally done… THU 7/31 (11:00PM) — There are many complications in SF, so I’m still working on that, waiting for teams to reply with their flexibility. Meanwhile, OAK and SJ are ready to go, as you can see with the tipoffs below.
THU 7/31 (9:30PM) — Peter and I are finalizing the tipoffs as we speak. Thanks for your patience!
THU 7/31 (9:45AM) — Draft of the schedule is below. You can see that everything matches the Playoff Brackets. Tipoffs are not final yet. Hope to finalize it by tonight due to Peter’s work schedule. Again, in SJ, looking for an opponent for BBOF. Probable gym start times so you can guesstimate your probable tipoff: MDLS late morning, BCRC early morning, WKRC midday, AHHS mid-morning.
WED 7/30 (11:30PM) — In my previous post, I forgot to mention SJ. SJ will forge ahead with the same proposed schedule we’ve had for the last two weeks that got derailed by the floor resurfacing. BBOF has been scheduled for a bye, again, so I will try to find a team that might want to play two games, one of them vs BBOF. It might end up giving that team a 7th game, which would cost $25 to cover gym expenses since the league fees cover 6 regular season games, not 7, but we’ll see.
WED 7/30 (11:15PM) — Good games last Sun 7/27, as only about 3 of the 6 double-digit losses or blowouts were due to unknown factors (i.e., not enough information) other than having a depleted squad. The playoff brackets are finally up and running…
From there, you can see who is playing next and when. You can even see the probable dates out until the Championship and, if necessary, Repeat Championship. Thankfully, assuming no one asks for a bye all of a sudden, we’re probably going to finish even the Repeat Championships up by no later than 8/24, which is before Labor Day 9/1.
Next step will be to build the tipoff schedule as we usually do, based on the brackets just published on the page linked above. Obviously those tipoffs will still be on the spreadsheet below.
Incidentally, the 2014 Fall season will soft-launch on Sun 9/15 and hard-launch on 9/22. That should give any interested teams plenty of time to get ready. Registrations will go up later in August.
SAT 7/26 (7:00PM) — The SJ gym will have to be closed AGAIN. The vice principal just called me and said that, while the contractors finished resurfacing the floor, they did not clean up the gym adequately and it is a dust bowl in there and unplayable at the moment. So, we basically have no choice but to postpone the games again. As far as BBOF, the only team that was scheduled for a bye, is concerned, I will try to get them a game next Sun 8/3 by giving some other team a doubleheader. We’ll see. Sorry again, but my hands are tied and we don’t have a second gym to easily go to as we do in SF and OAK.
Also in OAK, Kungfu Panda got back to me too late after Kryptonite was already informed of their forfeit, so that game will remain a forfeit even though Kungfu Panda finally paid their spots. The other two games at WKRC are on: 1230p OIIM vs Pinnacle and 130p Thundercatz vs Purefoods, as well as the 230p game.
THU 7/24 (11:00PM) — At long last, the schedule is done. Scroll down or click the jump links below. At WKRC, you can see that there are 3 teams that are on the brink of forfeiting: Kungfu, OIIM, and Thundercatz. Those games may or may not happen. We’ll let the captains involved know.
THU 7/24 (1:15PM) — Peter will be available this evening to finish the tipoffs. Even though there is a draft version below posted, the SF schedule is in flux due to various issues, although I don’t foresee the general chronology of matchups to change drastically, even with the re-seeding of the SF-TA teams (see previous post below). So we’ll have to just wait until tonight to finalize everything.
THU 7/24 (12:00PM) — I’ve turned this over in my head a few times now. I’m going to re-seed the top division in SF based on standings and head-to-head results, as the NBA would. I think that’s more fair than the rankings, although the rankings are extremely helpful in determining regular season week-by-week matchups, because teams showed up and won the games they were supposed to win.
Rankings are obviously also helpful in figuring out if teams were in the wrong division. However, since we’re already talking about the top division in an entire city, rankings kind of become a moot point when you’re dealing with the cream of the crop. So here we go…
1. AAA (6-0) — Won every game thrown at them. Definitely #1 seed.
2. Vikings (4-2) — Wins head-to-head tiebreaker vs SBSF.
3. Splash Bros (4-2) — Loses head-to-head tiebreaker vs Vikings.
4. Basic (3-3) — No h2h vs SFHF, Wins common opponents vs SFHF 2-3 (Viking/Cool/Splash/AAA).
5. SF Homenet (3-3) — No h2h vs Basic, Loses common opp vs Basic 1-3 (Viking/Cool/Splash/AAA).
6. CoolGuys (1-5)
So that means the Vikings actually escape any first-round requirement to play a doubleheader — they were ranked 3rd to finish the season and in a 6-team bracket, the top two seeds mathematically get the advantage.
I’m still not convinced a doubleheader should be imposed on the low seeds, but we have a scheduling issue with AAA in that they must play this Sun 7/27. I figure that they’re the #1 seed outright no matter how you slice and dice it, and is the one team that has earned the right to play a lower seed that’s subject to a doubleheader.
Therefore, I’m going to force #5 vs #4 (Basic/Homenet) into this. While I had Basic ranked second-best in San Francisco due to their 1-point loss to AAA — the closest anybody got this season — the fact remains, they should’ve won that game to avoid being dropped to the 4th seed due to the 3-3 record being worse than both Vikings/Splash at 4-2.
It’s no different in the NBA. It’s like Basic had that early-season big loss to AAA without a full squad, then barely lost when they did have a full squad later. Still would count against them doubly so in the NBA standings, i.e., the NBA’s race for playoff seeds and homecourt advantage (which we can use the analogy of avoiding a low seed doubleheader in Dream League). One game result can certainly make-or-break that kind of seeding.
I’m leaning towards not having #6 vs #3 play #2 immediately. Again, I only really force the winner of #5 vs #4 to play #1 the same Sunday, this Sun 7/27, because of #1’s scheduling issue. The winner of #5/#4 vs #1 would then take a bye next Sun 8/3 as the #6/#3/#2 catches up on 8/3.
At least that’s the plan for now.
If you’re curious about OAK’s top division, I took a look at that and found a mess, so I’m leaving that as-is. A lot of the top teams didn’t play each other, so I don’t know what happened there. I’m going to have a discussion with my scheduler so that there is a bit more uniformity that we saw with SF, during OAK’s regular season, from this point on.
THU 7/24 (2:15AM) — First draft of the schedule is now up. Probable gym opening times: MDLS late morning or midday, ISAH to be determined, BCRC early morning, WKRC midday or early afternoon, AHHS late morning. Please remember to check the previous posts discussing the matchups.
Btw, the following teams have been given byes or we’ve just assumed they’re not playing anymore because they haven’t paid or responded to any of my texts: Thundercatz and OIIM.
THU 7/24 (1:15AM) — The previous list of matchups for SJ was copied/pasted from 7/13 accidentally, i.e., it was wrong. Here’s the corrected version. Special thanks to Squaaaad for catching that mistake. Matchups are still correct on the SJ tab…
AHHS sj-dl/ta Hoop Squad at TSA Santa Clara 9a-6p 2p-7p
AHHS sj-ta Splash City (SJ) at Soul Vikes 10a-3p (12p ok)
AHHS sj-dl/ta Gunners at Bad News 9a-3p 11a-4p]
AHHS sj-dl LNT at Squaaaad 11a-4p 12p-5p
AHHS sj-nc/dl SJ Free Agents at Yeets ??? 10a-9p
AHHS sj-nc MTV at Regulators (SJ) 4p-9p 11a-4p
AHHS sj-nc Fly High at SJ Free Agents 10a-9p ???
AHHS sj-nc Brick City at Strokers 2p-8p 2p-9p
WED 7/23 (2:30PM) — Here’s the proposed SJ schedule for this Sun 7/20. Below that is the OAK playoff and then the SF playoff stratifications. First tipoff at AHHS should be late morning and you can see the tipoff timeframes we’re working with, towards the right. These will be finalized late tonight. BBOF gets a forced bye due to non-payment. Btw, they face possible explusion as we’ve kept asking them to pay week after week with no foreseeable progress:
WED 7/23 (2:30PM) — Here’s the OAK playoff stratification. If you have any qualms about it, have your captain text me. Notice that in SF, we have some overlap. That’s just me knowing the particular nuances of the SF market and certain teams stepping up to play in more difficult competition, such as SF Homenetmen Fire and CoolGuys — much respect to them. Then there’s the 3-team and 4-team brackets which I purposely made due to various special requests. Alas, I have no idea of such nuances in Oakland, so you’ll need to speak up. SJ will get its chance in two weeks as well. I will post the proposed SJ matchups for this Sun 7/27 in a few minutes…
OAK-TA (7 TEAMS)
Regular Show (OAK)
Rich City Chieftains
OIIM — POSSIBLE EXPULSION DUE TO NON-PAYMENT
NOTE: I also haven’t decided if we’ll do a doubleheader for the lower-seeded teams. While I don’t like to impose doubleheaders when there’s not even a Losers Bracket yet, at the same time, I’m not sure if I want to impose a bye on a high seed like Ballaz4Lyfe.
OAK-DL/GOLD (AND MAYBE SILVER, 10 TEAMS FOR NOW)
Cereal Killers — might have a bye due to being a high seed
Sole Supremacy A — might have a bye due to being a high seed
Undrafted — might have a bye due to being a high seed
Franchize (DL) — might have a bye due to being a high seed
Sqad Up — might have a bye due to being a high seed
Oakland Sonics — might have a bye due to being a high seed
Splash City (OAK)
NOTE: We haven’t decided if we’ll further split this division into a 5-team Gold and 5-team Silver yet. If we do, chances are we would give the top seeds a bye as necessary, because it’s not necessarily fair that a low-seeded team would be a low seed if we didn’t stratify it the way we did.
OAK-DL/BRONZE (5 TEAMS)
Pure Supremacy — might have a bye due to being a high seed
Oakland FA (DL)
NOTE: See explanation for OAK-DL/SILVER above.
OAK-NC/AM-Upper (7 TEAMS)
Bench Warmers (OAK)
NOTE: Here’s where OAK is much different than SF. The NC teams in OAK are far more fickle when it comes to the time of day in which they play. NC is also has a wider definition, as in any vanilla location, we’d automatically label the top division TA and the bottom division NC, and everything else in between is DL — not the case in OAK, as you can see.
OAK-NC/AM-Lower (6 TEAMS)
All Ham No Turkey
OAK-NC/PM (6 TEAMS)
Sole Supremacy B
No Parking Loiterers
TUE 7/22 (2:45PM) — Oakland rankings are now up on the OAK sheet below, while the SF sheet has not only been ranked, but also given preliminary bracketing, as follows (all groupings preliminary, OAK will be done tonight in similar fashion):
SF-TA (6 TEAMS)
Vikings — might have a doubleheader first round (low seed)
Splash Bros (SF) — might have a doubleheader first round (low seed)
SF Homenetmen Fire — might have a doubleheader first round (low seed)
CoolGuys — might have a doubleheader first round (low seed)
SF-DL/GOLD (4 TEAMS)
XiaYu — asked for a bye this Sun 7/27
Prodigies — asked for a bye this Sun 7/27
SF-DL/SILVER (5 TEAMS)
Bus Drivers — might have a first-round bye as #1 seed
Cold Pizza — might have option for a bye either 7/27 or 8/3 due to 5-team format
Lieut Bison — might have option for a bye either 7/27 or 8/3 due to 5-team format
SF-DL/BRONZE (3 TEAMS)
SF Warriors DL — wanted a bye this Sun 7/27, feasible if only 3 teams
SF-DL/COPPER (7 TEAMS)
Kuyabruddaz — might have a first-round bye as #1 seed
All Show No Go
Pump Fake Travel
Curse Of Chris Kaman
SF Free Agents
TUE 7/22 (2:00PM) — I have been in contact with most of the captains in the delinquency list below (two posts ago), so we do have good momentum in solving a lot of these matters. Some of them are, indeed, a situation where the team is behind on payments. Some, we have discovered errors in accounting on Dream League’s part. Each case is different, so I appreciate everyone’s efforts in closing up the loops as we head into playoffs (for SF and OAK). Speaking of which, I applaud the majority of SJ in being very timely on payments there. Can’t wait to focus on playoffs! Should be exciting, as we had many overtimes this past Sunday.
TUE 7/22 (1:30PM) — Now would be a good time to remind everyone that if you have more than 8 players you want eligible for the playoffs, you need to let us know — 9th roster slot may be due, depending.
TUE 7/22 (12:45PM) — According to our records, the following teams are already or will be delinquent as of 11:59pm tonight. I will go ahead and go through the trouble of texting these captains, but as it stands right now, these teams’ first playoff games in the double-elimination format are going to be forfeits. It’s your 7th game and we need 8 slots paid, just like when you paid 2 slots before your first game was scheduled…
NOTE: ALL TEAMS MUST HAVE AT LEAST 8 SLOTS PAID
OAKLAND (SLOTS PAID):
Here are the remaining teams for San Jose, which isn’t as urgent as we aren’t starting playoffs until 8/10: Squaaad-5/8 paid, BBall of Fury-4/8 paid, Brick City-3/8 paid.
SAT 7/19 (2:00PM) — Please read the playoff eligibility rules in red font to the right of these announcements. Any teams having issues meeting these eligibility requirements needs to email me, and from there we will seek a democratic solution. Remember: “The good of the many outweigh the good of the one.”
SAT 7/19 (10:45AM) — Forgot to list the byes from the OAK sheet: Rich City Chieftains and Cereal Killers. They are now properly listed on the schedule as byes.
FRI 7/18 (8:15AM) — Schedule is done. Hit the jump link or scroll down. See previous posts below.
THU 7/17 (10:00PM) — Draft of the schedule, in chronological order, is below. Again, no games for SJ, as previously explained below.
THU 7/17 (9:00PM) — As I’ve emailed SJ captains and as you can see my work on the SJ tabs, it looks like we simply have to move the SJ leagues back another week. Oh well. Now working on the SF schedule. Matchups are already listed on the SF tab.
THU 7/17 (8:30PM) — I’m going to update the SJ sheet with “target 7/27” and “target 8/3” and things like that. Might need to do some double-headering to get us to finish everything before Labor Day.
THU 7/17 (8:20PM) — Just got a text from the vice principal of AHHS. There are no games at AHHS this Sun 7/20 due to gym resurfacing. He may have mentioned it in passing to me, but I was totally unaware of this. Sorry about that.
I will find out if we have it next Sun 7/27. Games will resume on Sun 7/27.
THU 7/17 (8:15PM) — FYI, the SF matchups are tough! I wonder if the playoff bracketing is going to be as hard. We’ll see. Still working on 7/20 SF matchups.
THU 7/17 (8:00PM) — Here are the proposed OAK matchups. There are some problems, as you can see. These are NOT in chronological order yet…
o-nc Frachize NC at Bench Warmers 9a-2p (9a-10a)
o-nc: Kung Fu Panda at Kryptonite 9a-1p 10a-1p

BYES: BBOF (SJ), Frisco Hawks (OAK), DFG (OAK), Rich’s Rayguns (SF)
Next up: SF matchups, although they’re already mostly proposed on the SF sheet.
THU 7/17 (11:45AM) — SJ rankings are done, but same thing, I can’t proceed with it 100% without knowing the payment status of BBOF and Gunners. So some of the matchups around those teams in the rankings left undone for now.
Right now, we’ll just wait until Peter can get back online at 5p to finish the OAK schedule, which is about when I hope to complete SF and SJ — hopefully there will be more info then.
THU 7/17 (11:15AM) — SF rankings are done, but matchups can’t be completed until we get updates on payments as well as whether or not teams with an extra 7th game are able to pay the $20 at-cost gym fees. Moving on to SJ rankings now.
THU 7/17 (10:15AM) — Delinquent payments have caused a ripple effect. We are experiencing delays in posting the schedule because we have to wait and see how teams respond to our requests for them to catch up on their payments. We understand and fully endorse the sentiments of teams that have already paid and are on time — that we should just kick these delinquent teams out — but the flipside to that is, we want to include as many teams as possible for diversity of scheduling. In any case, we don’t expect the full schedule to be posted until tomorrow morning. Thanks again for your patience.
Meanwhile, OAK rankings and matchups are done, while this still needs to be done for SF and SJ, but we’re on it.
TUE 7/15 (11:15AM) — First off, it’s judgment day on payments. I have John Michael texting teams that are behind on payments and because this Sun 7/20 is the last regular season game for most of you (not in SJ), we have to put our foot down.
For those of you playing your 6th and final regular season game this Sun 7/20, ignore the following paragraph. Play will resume as usual.
There’s a few teams that are ahead of schedule and have already finished six regular season games. Because all playoffs generally need to start on time, and those will start on next Sun 7/27, some of these teams have the option to play a 7th regular season game and not take a bye this Sun 7/20. However, in doing so, the team must help pay for gym costs so that Dream League can at least break-even on the logistics of simply having the game, as follows:
SF = extra $20 (bring cash to game)
OAK = extra $25 (bring cash to game)
SJ = same as OAK, but we’re not there yet
CAVEAT: There must be mathematically enough teams available for you to play a 7th regular season game (i.e., you’re not an “odd team out”).
Not surprisingly, costs in OAK and SJ are higher, as you know from the roster slots being more than SF. Actually, it’s more correct to say that SF is lower, since I have special relationships there since the inception of the league 12 years ago.
FRI 7/10 (3:00AM) — Tipoffs have posted!
THU 7/9 (1:45PM) — Matchups for SJ are now done. Next step: coming up with a draft for tipoffs Sun 7/13… THU 7/9 (1:30PM) — Just finished the proposed matchups for SF for this Sun 7/13. Next up: SJ… THU 7/9 (12:30PM) — Sorry for the delay, but truth be told, chasing teams down for payments takes away time from actually doing the schedule, so it is what it is. Even though my staff is not following protocol by first putting the matchups on the SF/OAK/SJ tabs, here are the proposed matchups for OAK:
Purefoods at Rich City Chieftains
Ballaz 4 Lyfe at Undrafted
Thundercatz at Pinnacle Capital
OIIM at Kurruption DL
Sole Supremacy A at Cereal Killers
TL at Sqad Up
Marvel Unit at Franchize DL
Splash City at Oakland Sonics
Oakland Free Agent at Eastbay Brawlers
Pure Supremacy at GogiBoyz
Frisco Hawks at All Ham No Turkey
Stephen’s Curry at WWWD
Warriors-Rec at BlackOut
Bench Warmers at Kung Fu Panda
Sole Supremacy B at Hawks
DFG at Franchize NC
Lincoln at Kryptonite
Dro Show at Last Minute
Keep Dreamin at Kurruption NC
Face Jam at No Parking Loiterers
The proposed matchups for SF are in formation as you can see on the SF tab. I haven’t started re-ranking SJ yet from the results of last Sun 7/6, but will do so soon. All in all, this means I probably won’t have the schedule up until tomorrow Friday morning.
WED 7/9 (3:15PM) — Here’s the list of delinquents from my assistant, John Michael, who might be sending you a friendly reminder. If this list is incorrect in any way, please have your captain text me asap, otherwise I will assume your team is potentially on the chopping block for scheduling this Sun 7/13…
SF (5th game for most)
AAA (3 SLOTS)
Cool Guys (0 SLOTS)
OAK (5th game)
Purefoods (0 SLOTS)
Ballaz4Lyfe (4 SLOTS)
Reg Show (4 SLOTS)
OIIM (3 SLOTS)
Cereal Killers (4 SLOTS) — Game 6
Marvel Unit (4 SLOTS)
TL (4 SLOTS)
Frisco Hawks (3 SLOTS) — Game 6
Franchize NC (3 SLOTS)
Kungfu Panda (2 SLOTS)
All Ham (3 SLOTS)
Rayguns (1 SLOT)
BBall Fury (2 SLOTS)
MON 7/7 (8:00AM) — I’m about to get a big fat bill for the use of BCRC, so it’s now judgment day for a lot of you. PayPal roster slots have gone up again by $1.34 and I’m having my assistant figure out which teams are delinquent by today 5pm. Those teams will be on hold in terms of scheduling a game for them, esp if they’re an Oakland team, meaning no game this Sun 7/13 for such delinquent teams and, guess what, you have a maximum of two games on the last day of regular season 7/20, which means you’ll be cut short on your regular season.
THU 7/3 (7:15PM) — Final draft of schedule has now posted. Special thanks to Brick City for allowing a 1p tipoff to happen at AHHS.
Btw, if you missed Steph Curry‘s appearance at SF Pro-Am last night, here’s my recap.
THU 7/3 (11:00AM) — You can start to see matchups on the SF/OAK/SJ tabs, but I’m experiencing delays because of tipoff conflicts, so I have some texts out to teams seeing if they can adjust their timeframes. Still hopeful for the posting of tipoffs by this evening as I previously predicted… (7:45AM) — Teams were re-ranked yesterday and you can now see them on SF/OAK/SJ. We also spent a lot of time tracking down teams we were hoping that could play this Sun 7/6. We are now working on the matchups and should have an update by noon today as to the matchups. Then complete the tipoffs by evening time.
TUE 7/1 (3:45PM) — If you take a look at the SF/OAK/SJ tabs in the schedule below, you will see which teams we have slated to play this Sun 7/6. I have contacted all captains involved and we will sort it out shortly. The rankings taking into account results from last Sun 6/29 have not been done yet.
MON 6/30 (11:00AM) — Friendly reminder that we’ll be increasing the roster slot fees by $2.67 (because we didn’t raise them last week). Also, please read the July 4th instructions in red to the right.
Scores will be updated later today and then rankings tomorrow. During this time we will also be tracking more payments and checking the delinquencies. We are about two-thirds of the way through the regular season, so I will start to get really concerned by teams that are continually delinquent. Starting this week and next, I will stop scheduling games for teams that are behind on payments. It’s about this time where we starting kicking teams out.
For those of you who don’t have any delinquent players to deal with, I appreciate it.
FRI 6/27 (1:45PM) — The SF games at ISAH have been moved back half an hour to 330,430,530p due to scorekeeping staffing issues. All six captains involved have been texted about this.
THU 6/26 (7:00PM) — Schedule for this Sun 6/29 has been finalized. Don’t forget to read the stuff about next weekend, July 4th weekend (in the red on the right).
THU 6/26 (11:45AM) — Draft version is below. Gonna let it marinate until tonight around the 2nd round of the NBA Draft (keep track of Kevin Love developments at @LetsGoWarriors by the way!). Here are the probable opening times at each gym, so you can sort of guesstimate the time of day for your game below, for now: MDLS morning, ISAH mid-afternoon, BCRC early morning, WKRC mid-morning, AHHS late morning.
Hit the jump link or scroll down the schedule below. Previous post right below these links are still important to read, as we always suggest you do…
THU 6/26 (8:00AM) — Matchups are now shown on the SF/OAK/SJ tabs. Also, you can see the progression towards the last regular season matchups on 7/20. I’m hoping the teams that are earmarked for a game on Sun 7/6 can play on that July 4th Weekend. If not, have your captain contact me.
WED 6/25 (6:45PM) — OAK has been ranked and matched up. We have not yet re-ranked SF or SJ based on results from 6/29. Sorry for the delay on that, but I plan to be staying up late tonight so as to have matchups done by midnight, then tipoffs done by tomorrow Thursday noon-ish, barring unforeseen circumstances.
Don’t forget to read the stuff in red on the right as it pertains to July 4th weekend coming up next Sun 7/6. Remember, teams that are ahead of schedule can opt for a 7th (or 8th) regular season game if they finish early, so long as they help pay for the gym costs ($25 in OAK/SJ, $20 in SF) — we don’t make any money on those games; in fact, we lose money because of eventual stats input.
TUE 6/24 (11:00AM) — All roster slots are going up by $1.34 in the next hour. This has been delayed since last week. Now that we are in Week 4 for teams on “normal pace” (no doubleheader makeups), I will be increasing the roster slot payments another $1.34 this Friday morning to catch up on that. Again, this is designed as a deterrent for people who do not wish to take care of their roster slots until a later time.
We’re in the process of updating the scores in the Comments column in the embedded spreadsheet below, however, the rankings pages (SF/OAK/SJ) have been updated with the results from this past Sun 6/22 and point differentials, and we’ll be re-ranking them for the purposes of scheduling this Sun 6/29, in the next 24 hours.
As for July 4th weekend, Sun 7/6, if your team started late — defined as having only 3 games played entering Sun 7/6 — we are expecting that you will play so as to catch up in the regular season progression of 6 games. If you cannot play on Sun 7/6, please submit a Special Request (link is in the right-hand panel of every page of our website, under the LetsGoWarriors logo). If you have played 4 or more games after this Sun 6/29, you will receive an automatic bye for July 4th unless the captain contacts me.
THU 6/19 (8:45PM) — Schedule is finally done! If you want to see all the issues and announcements, click on the second “jump” link below…
THU 6/19 (7:30PM) — The bad news is, we’re still not done with the schedule because in Oakland, we’ve come across some major difficulties. The good news is, we’re still working on it as I write this, so it’s not like the problems are just sitting there. We’re doing the best we can. Ultimately it comes down to the fickleness of the teams with all your timeframes. Hopefully you guys will ask for less and less constraining tipoff times. As you can see, it does increase the probability of difficulties for us.
THU 6/19 (11:15AM) — The SF matchups are in chronological order, the OAK matchups might be changed due to a problem with an O-NC matchup (thus OAK is definitely NOT in chronological order yet), and the SJ matchups are in chronological order below. You may scroll past the previous announcements (you should read them) or click on the jump link below…
MDLS should start in the morning, ISAH late afternoon, and AHHS late morning, for those of you who want to sort of guesstimate what time of day your team is playing. There are SF players that also play in OAK, so we will need to wait until the BCRC+WKRC schedules are complete before finalizing the tipoffs. Peter will finalize OAK this evening but I’ll try to get to it before then, we’ll see. Expect tipoffs to be finalized by 7pm tonight — thanks for your patience, as usual.
WED 6/18 (2:45PM) — I’ve posted the proposed SF matchups, which are all based on our weekly rankings, of course. Next up: OAK, then SJ tonight. You can see all of this unfolding on the SF, OAK, and SJ tabs in the embedded spreadsheet below.
WED 6/18 (2:45PM) — Speaking of doubleheader makeups (see previous post below), I am thinking we can use the July 4th Weekend as a makeup day for those of you that are behind. The exact date is Sun 7/6. Let us know if you want to play that weekend. FYI, you should have started your first game on Sun 6/8, in order to finish playoffs by Labor Day, which requires end of regular season on Sun 7/20.
WED 6/18 (2:30PM) — The rankings for SF are now done. Speaking of rankings, if you were missing a bunch of guys for any particular game or if there’s any other reason we should sort of not consider a game as an accurate indication of your team’s strengths, definitely let us know.
As for doubleheader makeup games, please let us know when you would like to have your doubleheader, otherwise we will just arbitrarily do it when it best fits our scheduling (e.g., there could be an odd-team-out that particular Sunday, necessitating a doubleheader).
Here are the bye requests for 6/22: Illuminati, The Bros, Curse Of Chris Kaman, OIIM, Keep Dreamin.
WED 6/18 (2:00PM) — Now that we’re starting to figure out the matchups for this Sun 6/22 based on rankings (NOTE: SF rankings are currently being done as of this post!), it occurs to me that we need more free agents in SJ. Let me know if there’s anyone in San Jose that wants to double dip and play with the free agents. It’s not a bad squad and the last few spots on SJFA will go to the highest bidders (read: they are discounted spots!). Get in contact with me for more details.
WED 6/18 (8:00AM) — Peter and I will be working on the matchups today, using your registered tipoff timeframe, unless you made a special request on this site before midnight last night (link is in the right-hand panel, under the LetsGoWarriors logo, in case you didn’t read the last post). One more thing with the Make Special Request form: the results are still listed in last season’s spreadsheet’s “Special Request” tab. I am currently figuring out the best way to have it be in our current spreadsheet.
TUE 6/17 (9:30AM) — Oh btw, the final scores are up in the Comments column of each of the schedule sheets below (6/1, 6/8, 6/15) as well as the +/- on the Rankings sheets (SF, OAK, SJ). Tonight we will begin re-ranking all the teams based on the latest and past results, then start the scheduling process for Sun 6/22. Again, you need to be up-to-date on the payments, as stated in the previous post.
TUE 6/17 (9:15AM) — First off, we are updating payments and tomorrow, they will go up by $1.34 each roster slot, as explained here, so it’s best if you tell your teammates to get their roster slots paid off asap. We will have a delinquency list posted tomorrow and may have to skip the teams that are on it. If you get skipped in the scheduling, you’ll have to make it up later with a doubleheader to catch up.
Secondly, here’s a list of announcements I will probably be making to all captains via email soon:
- 6-hr tipoff timeframe: Some of you have not given us a 6-hr possible tipoff window, which is really just a request for five (5) possible tipoffs every Sunday. Please note: a weeknight league would require you to have at most four (4) available tipoffs, e.g., 6,7,8,9p on a weeknight. As such, I don’t think it’s a lot to ask for at least five every Sunday. Failure to do so only limits the diversity of teams you have to play against.
- Making special requests: The link to make a special request is in the right-hand panel on every page of this website. It’s called “Make Special Request”. You must make your special request no later than 11:59PM preceding the Sunday game in question. You must be respectful of our time dedicated to scheduling, therefore, failure to meet the Tue midnight deadline forces you to play at the time that we schedule you. If you forfeit that game, then you’re on the hook for the $70 forfeit fine.
- Being so-called Non-Competitive: Again, you should not have signed up for Non-Competitive unless you think you might be the worst four to six teams in any given city. We will not be hearing any competitive-based complaints from any teams that signed up for Non-Competitive, which is supposed to be a division “for fun”.
- More than 8 roster slots: You are not allowed to bring more than 9 players to any game unless you have paid for the 9th roster slot or have made special arrangements with the league office. If you have paid for 10 roster slots, you may bring an 11th and 12th player for free.
- Managing your team during regular season: You can bring any players you want to any regular season game so long as you (a) do not bring more than the slots you paid/arranged for, (b) do not bring competitive players if you are in Non-Competitive, and (c) are mindful of the playoff eligibility rules (see next bullet point). If you are a competitive team (The Association or DL) and you bring in a temporary “ringer”, please be advised that your team’s rankings will be based on those latest results.
- Playoff eligibility: To be eligible for the playoffs, the teams’ players must have played at least 2 regular season games with 1 of them in the first 3 games and the other in the last 3 games, or all of the final 3 regular season games.
FRI 6/13 (1:30PM) — In SF, we have a couple of issues. Benchwarmers SF were accidentally left off the list of teams, but we’ve solved that problem by giving them one of Cold Pizza’s doubleheader games. We also want to try to give Illuminati a game because they need a bye next Sun 6/22, so we’re waiting to see if any of the teams that are ahead of schedule and without any foreseeable bye requests — The Bros, Lay-Up City, or Disgustingly Modest — will volunteer for the Fathers Day bye to allow that to happen.
FRI 6/13 (9:30AM) — Just waiting on one final confirmation of an issue for Oakland from Peter, and we’re set… (12:15AM) — The draft of the tipoffs for this Sun 6/15 has been posted below. In SF, there’s two teams that we hope can play one hour earlier than their normal timeframe, otherwise we have problems.
THU 6/12 (11:55PM) — Some matchups in SF have been changed since the last post, mostly due to tipoff timeframes… (11:30PM) — Forgot to mention that Cold Pizza in SF will likely have a doubleheader… (8:45PM) — There’s going to be exactly 13 games in SF this Sun 6/15 and I’d like to avoid opening up another gym and just keep everything at ISAH, so that means there will likely be some teams a little bit outside of their timeframe, since we don’t have much flexibility… (8:30PM) — Just realized Redeemed of SF and Splash City (Oakland) had requested a bye in their original registrations, so we’ve given them a bye, which allows us to matchup the late-registrants Oakland Sonics for the Oakland game. In SF, Illuminati was paired with Redeemed, so we’ll give them a bye as well, plus they already have played 2 games… (5:30PM) — Matchups for SF are now on the SF tab in the embedded spreadsheet… (4:45PM) — We currently have 11 free agents interested in playing in Oakland. Please email me at rich(at)dreamleague(dot)org if you’d like to join. Looking for 3 more to make two teams of 7 each for the Oakland Free Agents.
THU 6/12 (4:15PM) — As previously posted, still looking at a Fri morning 8am publishing of tipoffs, but here’s the list of byes and doubleheaders for this Sun 6/15. You can see the matchups developing on the SF tab in the embedded spreadsheet below. I’ve also listed the proposed matchups that Peter has and I’ve asked him to put the matchups on the OAK tab as well…

THU 6/12 (2:15PM) — Thanks to the teams that got back to me quick about the payments. Looks like there were some payment recording issues, as you can imagine how complex it is. Each one, there’s good reasons, largely due to how teams were registered and what not. So, just let us know the status and we will look things up… (1:45PM) — All of a sudden, I don’t feel so bad getting the schedule out late. Why? Because the following teams are, according to our records, hereby delinquent on their payments. Again, the rule is as follows: If your Xth game is coming up, you need to have (X+1) roster slots paid. So the following teams are at risk of auto-forfeiting their game this Sun 6/15, at which point it will be a $70 fine: $35 game fee for both teams, the one who forfeits and the team they are victimizing with that forfeit…
Thundercatz (payment in process)
Regular Show (paid)
Frisco Hawks (discussed)
Kungfu Panda (discussed)
Gogiboyz (paid, payment recording error)
Jumbo Shrimp (out)
Kuyabruddaz (payment in process)

All Show No (paid, payment recording error)
THU 6/12 (10:00AM) — I just realized that we have very good momentum with free agent teams, so I will need to finalize those rosters and add them to the list of teams being scheduled for this Sun 6/15. So I want to be realistic as we are still in the midst of launching the league this weekend, and say that the schedule of tipoffs is best estimated to go out tomorrow morning Fri 8am. Thanks for your patience.
THU 6/12 (9:15AM) — Sorry for the delay in posting. Yesterday I had meeting after meeting and then got sick. Luckily, Peter got a head start on the OAK schedule and is 95% done. In OAK, we may have to give two teams a doubleheader: Check and Sqad Up, both of whom did not start on 6/8 yet.
One of my meetings was with the AHHS vice principal in San Jose. He informed me that the gym is not available this Sun 6/15 due to a big event they are having. It was the first time he had mentioned that to me, but the good news is, we have a favorable gym contract in SJ and should be there for quite some time, knock on wood. So, there’s a league-wide bye in SJ this Sun 6/15.
I’ll work on SF today and hope to have it done by 3pm. I’ll keep you posted, as well as Peter’s progress with OAK.
TUE 6/10 (8:00AM) — We are currently going over final registrations and also making sure teams are not delinquent on payments. Teams must have 1 more roster slot paid than the number of game coming up. For example: you paid 2 roster slots in order for us to schedule your first game. That means you’ll need 3 paid before we schedule you for your second game, and so on and so forth.
THU 6/5 (11:30PM) — The final schedule has been posted below. Any issues, have your captain text me, but after all that I went through this week to get it done, I’m at a point where it would take a lot to change any part of it. My gas tank is on empty.
THU 6/5 (10:30PM) — Got thrown a couple curveballs. One was a team that made a special request today, which was well after the Tuesday midnight deadline ahead of each Sunday — basically Peter and I wasted all that time trying to schedule their game, now all for naught. So with these sort of moving variables, I have to put my foot down and give a deadline to such moving variables so that I can finally post the final schedule a little after 11pm tonight (30 minutes from now). Too many teams are waiting on me; I cannot wait any further than that on the teams in question. That wouldn’t be fair to me and it wouldn’t be fair to the majority of the teams reading this announcement.
THU 6/5 (9:00PM) — Still figuring out the SJ tournament schedule, but we’re close. We added a 7th team to that, so that reduces the number of games in SJ. Good news is, a couple teams in SJ said they’d rather start 6/15 anyways.
As for Oakland, likely zero changes to the draft below. For SF, maybe a subtle change or two, but nothing groundbreaking like for SJ. As such, I have to focus my attention on SJ at the moment, put out that fire, then it should be clear sailing.
THU 6/5 (9:30AM) — Tipoffs will be finalized tonight after the Heat-Spurs game. San Jose is the one that could change the most because of the tournament in which there are a few teams deciding on entering by noon today. Oakland and SF are likely to remain the same and each gym opens in the morning, BCRC in the early morning. SJ games are supposed to start in mid-afternoon.
So with the first game at the top of each gym starting at the given start times, you can sort of tell what time of day you’re playing. Hope that helps for now until the end of the NBA Finals Game 1. Thanks for your patience. If anything needs an explanation pre-tipoff-announcement, have you captain text me.
THU 5/29 (7:45PM) — Below is the final draft for the schedule this Sun 6/1.
