2011 Fall Sundays Roadmap: AAA-Premier (A/R-OAK Upper)

THU 10/6 (11:45AM) — First round playoffs will involve doubleheaders except for #1 seed. This is necessitated by the fact that BCRC will have limited availability on 11/20.

TUE 10/4 (12:30PM) — I have swapped the blocks of games such that Colossal gets the natural bye this Sun 10/9. I have yet to update the payments, but I had to pick one, so I picked the one that has paid the least thus far. Meanwhile, the Hoop Squad vs Purple Haze matchup, which was already played on 9/18, is tied with this block of games, so they will take a bye.

TUE 10/4 (10:15AM) — So we split the 14-team A/R-OAK into an upper and lower, and renamed the upper to “AAA-Premier”. Over the years, more and more A/R-OAK teams had picked up “ringers”, to the point where the “AAA-REC” (abbreviated A/R) became a bit ridiculous. Now, we are back to normal. The caliber of these newly named “AAA-Premier” teams is equivalent to the AAA-Premier division we had long ago before the great migration of strong players to A/R-OAK.

So this is just semantics/labeling. That’s all.

During the opening round of the playoffs, the #1 seed will get a bye. However, if the playoffs are delayed for any reason, I reserve the right to start the #1 seed in the first round and the winners of the other 3 games involving lower seeds #2 thru #7 will have to play a doubleheader.

But on our present course, we should be done with the championship by 12/11. Any repeat championship could be held on 12/18, although that’s the same date as our annual SF Gold Rush Tournament.

If teams and their players expect 100% attendance, they should not plan any Xmas vacation until Mon 12/19. Failure to plan accordingly can result in an extra fee for any (championship) games we need to specially schedule for you through 12/18.

If you look at the roadmap closely, you can deduce that future blocks of games (each week) could theoretically be juggled to accommodate a schedule quirk here or there. Should you be concerned with anything you see below, please email wylie(at)dreamleague(dot)org and we will explain or fix it.

In the roadmap below, if you see red text with a line through it, it means that’s where the game was originally scheduled in a “perfect” template. However, special requests can move those games to other dates, such as denoted in bold green, and a series of swaps can occur, but the matchups will always be fixed. The number of red cross-outs should always equal the number of bold green adds.
