2011 Spring-Summer Sundays REC-AM (Lower) Playoff Brackets

THU 7/28 (10:45PM) — We were made aware that Kryptonite seemed to have been left out of the discussion. It turns out we wrote “SULD” when we meant Kryptonite. In any case, they have a bye 7/31 as explained and corrected below.

THU 7/28 (5:15PM) — In the “pure” REC-AM Upper (below that is the “pure” REC-AM Lower, scroll down), while researching the bye request for Relapse, it turned out that WWWD could also use a bye, so I went ahead and implemented a bye for their playoff bracket areas. However, I kept the Oakland Warriors vs No Chance game, which means the winner will not be subjected to a doubleheader. This obviously creates an advantage for the winner of Warriors/NoChance on 8/7, and a disadvantage for SULD Kryptonite if they beat Relapse (Relapse should gladly accept their consequence of a doubleheader if they win since we are honoring their bye request). So, I was put in a difficult position to make this decision, and I decided that this was the “lesser of multiple evils”. Apologies to SULD Kryptonite, who must take a bye this Sun 7/31 along with Relapse…

In the single-elimination “pure” REC-AM Lower bracket, we’re down to the one-and-done championship…

THU 7/21 (4:15PM) — Please be reminded, we have various divisions within REC in Oakland: REC-AM (Lower, aka “REC-AM”) in which all the teams have no players on other teams/divisions, REC-PM (Lower, aka “REC-PM”) in which all the teams have no players on other teams/divisions, REC-AM (Upper, aka “REC+PM”) in which there are players from other teams in higher divisions, and likewise REC-PM (Upper, aka “REC+PM”) in which there are players from other teams in higher divisions.

Here in REC-AM (Lower), we have FURTHER SPLIT the playoffs into two separate brackets. The nomenclature can now get a bit crazy. So let’s call this whole REC-AM a “pure” division. In “REC-AM PURE”, we have an Upper and Lower bracket.

Let’s look at the Upper bracket first. With three teams in the Losers Bracket and two more coming after this Sunday’s two Winners Bracket games, is simply to have the worst two seeds fight it out to leave us with two in the LB plus two dropping down from the WB, to make a nice mini-final-four for next Sun 7/31’s LB. The new graphic will make more sense…

In the Lower bracket, which consists of sub-.500 teams in a single-elimination (one-and-done), we have this…
