2011 Winter-Spring Sundays AAA-SJ Standings

WED 3/9 (2:45PM) — Here are the playoff seeds for this Sun 3/13. Six-team playoff race, meaning #1 and #2 will get a first-round bye. I could actually schedule #1 and #2 to play the same day, forcing a doubleheader on the bottom 4 seeds, but I see that the standings are quite separated (as opposed to everyone being .500, in the extreme example). As such, let me “cool off” the top teams and let the rest sort themselves out on a regular one game-per-week progression. Of course, gym issues could change this requirement, so we’ll see.

  1. Outlaws (5-1) — beat SJ Hibachi head-to-head
  2. SJ Hibachi (5-1) — lost to Outlaws head-to-head
  3. Sly (4-2)
  4. Shohoku (2-4) — beat East Bay Gunners head-to-head
  5. East Bay Gunners (2-4) — lost to Shohoku head-to-head
  6. Riptide (0-6)

So the opening round this Sun 3/13 will feature #6 at #3 and #5 at #4. #2 and #1 have a bye. At least, that’s the target, barring unforeseen circumstances with gyms, etc.

TUE 2/15 (11:45AM) — The following are the current standings and playoff seeds from 2011 Winter-Spring, AAA-SJ division. These are simply ordered by W-L percentage then alphabetically, and therefore are not necessarily shown in the proper playoff tiebreaker order. That will be corrected when we reach the playoffs and the seeds are posted. Please be reminded that the regular season is 6 games. Check your division’s roadmap and email us if you suspect any discrepancies in the schedule/standings.

In the AAA-SJ, there are 6 teams. Barring unforeseen circumstances, we would have a first round playoffs that includes a “play-in” between #6 vs #3 and #5 vs #4, while #1 and #2 take a first-round bye. Please be reminded that all teams will get double-elimination status for the playoffs.
